Product photography for pet brands

Pet products are sold on warmth but photographed in chaos, because the model eats the props. BrandStills renders your real pouch, toy or collar into living room, kitchen and outdoor scenes from a few phone photos, no dog required.

A product placed in a warm, styled living room scene with soft daylight

Anyone who has tried to photograph a dog treat next to a dog knows how the shoot ends: the treat is gone, the pouch has a nose print on it, and the best frame has half a tail in it. Pet photography is its own skill. Pet product photography does not have to be, because the product is the thing that holds still.

The products themselves are awkward enough. Treat pouches are foil or gloss laminate, which throws glare across the flavour name. Toys are small, bright and shapeless on a white table. Collars and bandanas are flat nothing until they are worn or styled. And all of it is sold on a feeling, a warm home with an animal in it, that a bare tabletop photo cannot touch.

Where pet products photograph well

The right rooms do the emotional work. A living room scene puts a toy or treat pouch into the warm, soft-lit home every pet brand is really selling. A kitchen scene suits treats and food toppers, because that is where they actually live. For the outdoorsy end of the range, leads, bandanas and adventure treats, a picnic scene or rustic wood reads as walks and weekends.

Photograph the product plainly first: pouch straight on so the label and flavour text are sharp, one angled shot, one of the back if the feeding guide matters. The app locks the label text, logo and colours, so the render shows your actual pouch in the scene, not a lookalike.

Keep one real photo in the set

Renders should carry your listings and your feed, not replace your customers’ proof. Keep one genuine photo of a real dog or cat with the product in every listing; it is the photo buyers trust most, and it is the one an app should not fake for you.

Flavours multiply, shoots should not

Pet ranges sprawl: chicken, salmon, senior, puppy, grain-free. Each new flavour is two or three phone photos, and then every scene you already use applies to it. Come December, the whole range goes into a Christmas scene for the stocking filler push without a reshoot, because pet owners buy their animals presents, and you should be on that shelf.

Get the app and start with your bestseller, or see the full scene list first.

Frequently asked questions

Do pet product photos need a pet in them?

Not every photo. Your primary listing shot should show the product clearly; pets belong in supporting lifestyle images. A warm home scene does most of the emotional work on its own, and one real photo of your own dog with the product beats ten staged ones.

How do I photograph shiny treat pouches without glare?

Foil and gloss laminate pouches reflect any small light source as a white streak across the label. Shoot in soft window light, angle the pouch a few degrees away from the window, and fill the pouch out flat so the front face is smooth.

Can I show my whole treat range in one photo?

Yes. Add each flavour as its own product, then use a lineup or stepped podium scene; the app renders the real pouches side by side with each label correct, which is the image most pet shops need for a banner.
